Pelagian Dive Team George, who was working for the UN when he completed his Divemaster and technical dive training with us in 2005. When stationed in Thailand in 2006 he continued his DSAT Trimix & Advanced Wreck with Steve Burton. In January 2008 George completed his Advanced and Explorer Trimix certifications with Mark Ellyatt in Dahab. (Here he rescued a convulsing diver and received commendations from DAN Europe.) He joined Mark on an expedition to the HMS Victoria off Lebanon in February 2008. After being impressed with Mark's Pelagian rebreather he then convinced Mark to come to Dive Aqaba and run a course on the unit for the tec team here in March 2008. George sponsored Rod Abbotson to complete his instructor course on the Pelagian with Mark Ellyatt in Aqaba & Dahab for TDI Decompression Diver which he also gained himself. He became TDI Mixed Gas Diver on the Pelagian with Rod who completed Instructor. On the 29th July 2011 Rod Abbotson & Mark Ellyatt made a local record breaking dive to 167m. George provided deep support at 112m. In January 2013 George completed his PSA 100m Pelagian Advanced Mix gas course with Mark Ellatt while Rod completed his instructor course for this level. George works with the UN and joins us in Aqaba whenever he can with his Pelagian rebreather (#34) exploring the depths.
