PADI will be releasing a series of closed circuit rebreather courses in 2011.

They will be divided into recreational CCR and technical CCR down to 100m Cool

Here is the proposed course flow chart...

Clap Bravo Clap Bravo Clap Bravo Clap Bravo Clap Bravo

But what units can we use???

So far on the recreational side only the Poseidon Mk 6 Discovery meets their criteria...the machine has only killed a couple of divers so far... Surprised again

On the tec side apparently anything that has been third party tested....will this mean CE approval (Chinese Export)

Will safer manually controlled CCRs be allowed or are PADI only going to allow electronic boxes of death? Very Confused

We will find out next year!    Huh

OK from DEMA in November the following info was given out....

R type rebreathers for recreational diving...must meet PADI criteria....

so far only the Poseiden Mk 6 meets the PADI criteria...manufacturers have been challenged to build other units that will meet this criteria...

For recreational courses a diver will need to be at least Open Water or equivalent and presumable have a Nitrox cert..

Rebreather Diver     18m max onboard bail out and AAS permitted

Advanced Rebreather Diver 30m max off board bail and AAS required.

T type rebreathers which can be manual or electronic but must have third party testing...at the moment the ONLY third party testing is the CE testing...this means that so far only three rebreathers meet the standard...

APD Inspiration & Evolution and the Sentinal courses will be run by the exsiting tec instructor base and will be until specific and follow the old Mod 1 Mod 2 and Mod 3 certification levels...with TecCCR40, TecCCR60 and TecCCR100

More info will come out during 20111

Manual and training materials are being developed by Karl Shreeves....

Think you need to aply to be a PADI 3rd party Rebreather tester

Now that would be a big plus for Rebrethers in Jordan
