Black Rock Clean Up Dive - 24th July 2007
The Aqaba Marine Park invited all the dive centers in Aqaba to participate in a special clean up event at Black Rock dive site where trash seems to collect from the local tourist camp especially after holiday weekends. Although all the dive guides in Aqaba do their best to keep this area clean, it was again time for a more serious effort. This event took place on July 24th 2007. The Aqaba Marine Park dive team was helped by Seastar Watersports led by PADI Staff Instructor Thaer Juqman from the shore and Dive Aqaba led by Course Director Rod Abbotson from the sea by boat. The AMP boat also supported the operation. Both recreational and technical decompression diving was carried out by both teams and an impressive haul of trash was retrieved from the reef!
