Blue skies, clean beach and blue water - an idyllic scene
But lurking beneath the clean blue waters is lots of trash;
Aluminium soft drink cans in abundance....
Playing cards?!?
Old fish traps-now banned in the Marine Park
.......lots of beer cans thrown from boats......
.....crisp packets and more blown from the beach....
....it all starts to clog up the reef and cause damage to the corals....
...and this reef strewn with plastic cups from tourist boats looks unsightly
The Marine Park boat brings us extra bags as there is much to clean...
...everyone diving is allocated several trash bags....
...the clean up team enters the water...
....on reaching the seabed work starts immediately....
....underwater photography is forgotten as there is much to clean....
....heavily laden divers begin to return to the boat, staff help retrieving the bags....
....the dive platform soon fills up with lots of trash....
...and still the trash keeps coming and coming...
...the divers are finally helped back aboard...
time for the group shot - Hey, look what we got!
Now we have to count it all before our gourmet lunch is served!
