Dive Aqaba Tec Team locates Ferry Ramp
A U pattern search was used starting from the south end of the floating ferry berth. The team, led by Rod, located the missing ramp in just under 12 minutes! A marker line was the run back to the reef for easy relocation. Helped by tec team members George Ionita and Everette Ingram a photographic survey was made of the ramp lying in 70m of water. A 25mm steel cable is tangled on the ramp the other end 200m away at 77m depth, this will have to be cut before the ramp is raised - the viability and economics of which are now being studied. All the dives where conducted with Trimix as a bottom gas, air as a travel gas and two enriched air nitrox decompression mixes. Decompression was completed under the saftey umbrella of the floating dock to stay clear of heavy port traffic. Run times for the dives were between 80 and 90 minutes.
