International Clean Up Day September 2010

Our team collected 40.5 kilograms of trash from this site on the 28th September. With just eight divers completing two dives each at the site we removed 1567 items of trash. The Aqaba Marine Park provided the collecting bags and took the trash away for separation and counting. This was the first of a series of clean up dives at Black Rock as it is one of our specifically allocated sites to keep clean. You will see below some before and after shots which indicate how much better the reef looks to visitors after cleaning. There still seems to be lots of illegal fishing activity. We are helping the Marine Park rangers catching the culprits.
