Laila 1
A triple-decker yacht made for diving and snorkelling, with a spacious dive deck and a galley that produces the food we are known for.
A boat built for divers
Laila 1 was a Red Sea liveaboard before she came to Aqaba. She made a 13-hour crossing from the Strait of Tiran to Aqaba on Christmas Day 2003, piloted by Rod and Ashraf. She was fully refurbished in 2007, rebuilt and widened in 2010, and refurbished again in 2013. She is berthed at the Royal Yacht Club, a short walk from most hotels and from our dive centre.
On board
Dive deck
A large deck for kitting up, a normal toilet at deck level and two fresh-water deck showers for you and your kit.
Dive platform
A spacious platform at sea level and two wide ladders make entry and exit easy with or without fins. Ideal for disabled divers and tec divers.
Saloon and galley
A comfortable lounge for dive planning, a self-service hot drinks corner and a large galley with a proper cooker. We cater for all tastes.
A cool box on the dive deck keeps hot and cold drinks within reach all day. After diving we serve a full buffet in the saloon and everyone relaxes on the return trip. The sundeck gives comfort in the shade and in the sun, and it is a nice place for theory classes between dives.
