About Dive Aqaba
The mother of the diving industry in Aqaba. Founded in 2002, and still the most diverse dive centre in Jordan.
Our story
Dive Aqaba was founded in 2002 by Ashraf Sulaibi, Amjad Sulaibi and Rod Abbotson, a founding member of the Aqaba Diving Association. We helped diving in the Gulf of Aqaba reach international levels by passing knowledge and experience to our students, many of whom went on to grow independently with other dive companies in Aqaba and abroad.
We specialise in diver training and dive centre support. We offer the highest quality of air, which is the basis for our advanced and technical diving training and benefits recreational divers too. We give individual attention to every guest, with an emphasis on fun, safe diving and educational excellence from beginner to instructor, in recreational and technical diving and beyond.

Records and firsts
Dive Aqaba holds the record for the most daring dives in Aqaba. Rod Abbotson holds the deepest dive in Jordanian history, 167 m on a rebreather, and Amjad Sulaibi holds the deepest dive by a Jordanian, 136 m on open-circuit technical gear. We made the first recreational trimix dive in Aqaba in 2007. See the full list in the 100 m+ club.
Looking after the sea
Our tec team is recognised by Project AWARE for deep clean-up dives and surveys. We remove old nets and fishing line from deeper parts of the reefs, clean up rubbish that has drifted to depth, and work with the Aqaba Marine Park. We created the Clean Up Diver specialty in 1999, which PADI approved.
Train with us
From a first dive to instructor level, we run PADI courses all year, and we train instructors through the Instructor Development Course.
The Dive Aqaba challenge
The Tsereve Challenge: Everest in reverse
100+ metres is the Mount Everest of scuba diving. Far fewer people have dived that deep than have stood on top of Everest. Our six-day programme takes you from 65 m to 100+ m, a little deeper every day.
Final programme: five days of technical diving, helium, boat and logistics, an achievement certificate and a Tsereve t-shirt.
