PADI Tec 40
The entry point to the technical range: your transition from recreational to technical diving.

Prerequisites
- PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent – see PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.
- PADI Enriched Air Diver or equivalent – see PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver.
- PADI Deep Diver or equivalent – see PADI Deep Diver.
- At least 30 logged dives, with at least 10 on Enriched Air Nitrox below 18 m.
- Age 18 or older. A current fit-to-dive medical signed by a physician.
What you will gain
- To conduct decompression dives with technical equipment, modified recreational equipment or sidemount.
- Motor skills for decompression diving and how to respond to foreseeable emergencies.
- To dive to 40 m with up to 10 minutes of non-accelerated decompression, on gas up to EANx50.
How the course works
A full tec rig with double tanks and wings is preferred, but you can use your own recreational gear modified with two separate regulators, one on a long hose, or a sidemount setup (PADI Tec Sidemount Diver). Next: PADI Tec 45.
