About this dive site

Named after the garden eels living in the sand and grass here, one of the largest populations in the Red Sea. Stay still and they come out. A sandy slope runs down to 20 m, with a fantastic display of black corals and several small pinnacles.

One of the pinnacles has a reputation for unusual marine life, including Maurice the moray eel and his cleaner shrimp Jacques. If you stay still he will give you an underwater manicure.

Best for: All levels, photographers

Type: Recreational
