Rebreathers Banned in Jordan From September 2014 all forms of recreational and technical rebreathers are not permitted for use or training in Jordanian waters. We will still be able to offer technical open circuit diver training to trimix levels including instructor training. In the future our tec team rebreather Instructors will be offering rebreather training in other countries Aqaba by Night Every Friday night we are running a boat trip with Laila One, come for the cruise and also for night diving if you like, lots of fun with a BBQ. Dive Centre Refurb 2014 After a complete refurbishment of our boat Laila One, we have now moved on to our dive centre and started a complete rebuild and organisation of the area. We now have a retail shop, a larger area for guest to socialise and better equipment storage facilities. If you are returning to Dive Aqaba let us know what you think when you arrive. New PADI Instructor Scott Taylor successfully completed his instructor examination in Eilat, pictured left here with Jonas Samuelsson, PADI Regional Manager for Israel, Sweden & Iceland. Scott is now helping out in the dive centre for a month to gain more experience and complete his Master Scuba Diver Trainer preparation course. Instructor training with Dive Aqaba Illegal Nets Removed The Dive Aqaba team removed an illegal fishing net that was found on King Abdullah reef. New changes in environmental laws are being ratified soon after Ramadan, heavier fines and we hope more enforcement of the laws in the Marine Park. Be an underwater vigilante! New PADI Instructor Amjad "Jood" Sulaibi successfully completed his instructor examination in Dahab. After a 20 year IDC according to Examiner, Dave Griffiths pictured left here with Amjad who will be working now on higher levels of instructor training and technical diving while continuing with his day to day management of the dive centre! Find out more... JSSAC Aqaba Exped 2014 The Joint Services Sub Aqua Club completed a successful expedition to Jordan. Our team helped them to facilitate Dive leader and Advanced Diver training while several divers also managed to build up hours on their Inspiration Closed Circuit Rebreathers after permission was obtained from the Jordan Armed forces. To see what they all got up to Click here! 32 New Master Scuba Divers The National Academy for Professional Training from Qatar continued their training to the highest level in recreational diving after completing Rescue Diver and specialty courses in Night, Deep, Navigation, Nitrox and Wreck diving, Deep Diving level gaining the "Black belt of Scuba Diving" Master Scuba Diver and all gaining a place on our Honours board... Yet Another Pelagian Diver Art Gardniner completed his TDI pelagian Air Diluent Decompression Diver with us with a final dive enjoying the close up proximity to the fish at the Coral garden site here in Aqaba.
