Gorgone One

Visit these three shallow coral pinnacles and be amazed! This site is an excellent shallow dive in an area covered in coral. There are 3 pinnacles, each with its own ecosystem. The central pinnacle boasting a busy cleaning station. Down the coral slope there is a large gorgonia fan coral the site is named after and to the north a series of table corals. Hawksbill turtles frequent the area. Around the northern pinnacle are a shoal of big eye emperors and a large shoal of sergeant major fish. The mooring is to the south in a sandy patch at 15m.

C486B Taiyong

This wreck was discovered by the Dive Aqaba Tec Team in 2004. She lies on her starboard side in 50 metres of water off the dive site known as the Japanese Gardens, the maximum depth on the wreck is 57m and the top of the wreck is 35m. She was bought by the Aqaba port authority in 1974 and was used for off loading ships coming to Aqaba. An accident led to the jib of the crane dropping and damaging the hold, this was them repaired with a concrete plug. The plug kept leaking so it was deemed uneconomical to repair and scuttled in late 1999.

Japanese Gardens

Visit this site from the outer mooring buoy as described below This site was named by us a few years ago as there was a site in Eilat with this name and we didn't have one! Actually it is really misnamed as a Japanese Garden would be all rocks and stones - nothing could be further from the truth. This place has amazing flora and fauna and all at shallow depths, it is very popular with snorkelers and is known as one of the most pretty areas in Aqaba.

Kleta's Wall

This site is named after Henry Kleta, a German instructor who first explored the area with us. Deep of the wreck of the Cedar Pride lies an inviting deep gulley leading to a series of fantastic deep canyons and walls with many gorgonian fan corals, recently the Dive Aqaba tec team found a tunnel leading all the way through the deep reef here. If you work your dive to the south you will ascend past an old water tank, so we have a "hydro box" as well as Stoney Cove!

Tarmac Five

...and Aqaba's forgotton wreck. This barge was scuttled in 1996 after Alcatel had finished laying the electrical cables to Egypt. She lies not far from the Cedar Pride and when she went down she landed over the corner of an old sunken fishing boat that has been there since the 70's. This used to be the only diveable wreck in Aqaba before the Cedar Pride was sunk and was pictured on old diving promo brochures! Although the wreck itself is not much to look at it is host to a good variety of marine life, Blue Spotted stingrays, frogfish and a good deal more.

Cedar Pride - Wreck

Scuttled for divers 30 years ago - this wreck has been described as one of the most photogenic wrecks of the Red Sea. It was deliberately sunk for divers on November 16th 1985 destined to become the most famous dive site in Jordan.

Rainbow Reef

The most popular night dive on our coastline! Named because the reef is shaped like a rainbow. It starts at around 6m and drops down to 18m on the top of the reef. A deeper gulley runs down the North side of the reef forming a nice wall along the side of the reef. The is a telecommunications cable that runs over to Egypt running down this gulley. This reef makes a particularly good night dive where you will find Spanish Dancer's and lots of lobsters. Moray eels are out and about as are the lion fish.

Cable Canyon

Created in 1996 when electrical cables were laid to Egypt - this site lies between Black Rock and Rainbow Reef. There are four cables running out over the seabed, the two cable to the North run through a deep canyon - hence the name! Here the reef has been shored up on either side to prevent it collapsing on the cables. Large steel netting covers the reef to the North and South, coral is now growing through this. Large metal tubes straddle the canyon preventing collapse. These are now a habitat for soft corals and sponges.

Black Rock

This site provides a sheltered area perfect for learning to dive, many people became divers at this site. It is also a great place for more advanced training and technical dives! So there is lots of good diving to be had here for all - leaving the classroom you swim out down past the pinnacle to the reef at about 18m, then turn North, crossing the sandy gulley and picking up the reef slope. Here you can pick your depth from 15 - 30m. Best at about 25m on the way out.

King Abdullah Reef

A fantastic spot sheltered from the wind with great diving Named after King Abdullah 2, there used to be a beautiful fan coral on top of the reef, this has now died and is covered in sponges of all the colours of the rainbow. Here you get large shoals of pennant fish. Torpedo and Blue spotted rays are often spotted here.
